As a member, can I actively participate in a Domain?
Yes. Membership is a great way to engage with activities related to the different Domains. Being a member means you can instantly get involved with activities in the Domains.
Can I participate in more than one Domain?
Yes, there is no limit to being involved.
Does membership also mean I can join a Chapter?
Yes, Standard and Principal members can join a single Chapter of their choice. Multinational and Strategic members can join up to five Chapters of their choice.
Can I be a member of more than 5 Chapters?
Yes, there is an option to join more Chapters but there is a charge per additional Chapter.
Does membership allow me to vote on standards developed at buildingSMART?
Yes, all members are entitled to vote on standards developed at buildingSMART.
Can I join as a member part way through the year?
Yes, you can join anytime. Your agreement starts the day you join.
Is there a different fee for small organizations?
For Standard and Multinational members, there is a reduced fee for organizations with less than 250 employees.
Can an individual become a member?
No, our membership categories are only available to organizations.
