buildingSMART International Welcomes Slovenia as a New Chapter in Development
London, U.K. – October 19, 2020 – buildingSMART International is pleased to announce a new Chapter recently approved by the board. buildingSMART Slovenia formally submitted their application for consideration to the buildingSMART board and enters the status of “Developing Chapter”.
The Chapter will be led by The BIM Association Slovenia (siBIM) is a voluntary, independent, and non-profit organisation that connects engineers and engineering enthusiasts who focus on the development and use of BIM processes and technology on a national scale. siBIM is a open to all interested individuals and organizations. It is a neutral organization: siBIM members are acting in compliance with their “ethical codex” so as not to prefer any of the commercial BIM solutions vendors.
siBIM developed an Action Plan for the Introduction of Digitalisation for the Built Environment in the Republic of Slovenia, contracted by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia, which is a base for further built environment digitalisation. This Action Plan includes the establishment of the buildingSMART Chapter Slovenia to better connect local efforts with the international community.
