It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of Clive Billiald from buildingSMART International (bSI). After two years as our CEO, Clive has decided to pursue new opportunities and challenges elsewhere.

During his time at bSI, Clive has had a significant and positive impact across both our organization and our community as a whole. His strategic thinking, innovative ideas and personal dedication have been instrumental in driving new ways of working that will continue to advance the momentum of our vital work. As a successful change agent, Clive has brought a strategic focus to our work, streamlined our processes and improved our ability to deliver the standards and services we produce. These reforms, alongside the delivery for the first time of the full suite of buildingSMART standards and services, leaves bSI very well-equipped for the next phase in our journey.

We are sincerely grateful for the contribution and leadership that Clive has invested in bSI, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours. We would also like to acknowledge Clive’s professionalism in working together with both the bSI leadership team and the Board to ensure a seamless transition upon his departure.

Clive’s last day at the helm will be today, December 13th, so please take the opportunity to reach out and wish him well in his next endeavour.

As a result of Clive’s departure, the Board has asked me to assume the role of Executive Chairman to provide support for the leadership team as needed.
