The Ecuador Chapter seeks to drive digital transformation in the construction industry by promoting the adoption of openBIM technology. Through the creation and dissemination of the "National BIM Plan," the chapter focuses on fostering sustainable and structural change by developing capacities that integrate technology and applied knowledge. This effort is aimed at enhancing project management and strengthening cross-sector collaboration with a holistic approach that encompasses education, research, and professional development. Simultaneously, it encourages the incorporation of new technological practices and facilitates knowledge exchange, promoting a coordinated advancement towards digitalization that meets Ecuador's specific needs and challenges. The chapter also organizes spaces for dialogue and learning, sharing essential BIM knowledge to make adoption a tool for long-term, comprehensive development for the country.
