European Chapters openBIM Forum Manifesto is Published

London, U.K. – June 26th, 2024 — buildingSMART International is delighted to announce that European Chapters have united their efforts to expedite the digitalization of the built environment. They aim to serve as an informal body, providing support to both the European Commission and national governments. Their technical assistance not only seeks to hasten the digitalization process but also aims to align existing initiatives, bridging the gap in BIM maturity across various countries.

Digitalisation of the building's permitting processes, circular economy and better communications among the building supplies chain are among their main objectives. The European Chapters openBIM forum (EOF) believes that leveraging existing or planned international efforts can accelerate all the processes, avoiding redundant work and expediting strategic projects identified by key European and international stakeholders.

The EOF Manifesto, endorsed by 21 countries, is now publicly accessible.

The next steps entail organizing meetings with the European Commission through various DG in charge with different policies to optimize European resources for the collective benefit of the building sector.
