Rob Roef has joined the Board as a non-affiliated Director
London, May 20, 2025 – buildingSMART International is pleased to announce that Rob Roef has joined the Board as a non-affiliated Director. Rob brings extensive experience in digital transformation and innovation in the built environment. He currently serves as Team Lead for Building Industrialisation and Senior Business Developer at TNO in the Netherlands, where he leads a multidisciplinary team driving the industrialisation of construction processes.
Rob has a long history with buildingSMART, having previously been the Chair of buildingSMART Benelux, where he led the transition from a single Benelux association to separate legal foundations in Belgium and the Netherlands. Rob is Co-chair of the Building Domain and is responsible for creating open digital standards for building design, construction, and operation. He was co-founder and co-chair of the airport domain and an ECTP Digital Built Environment Committee executive board member. He also contributed to Europe's strategy for digital transformation in construction by addressing adoption barriers and shaping a sector-wide roadmap.
