Two new members join the community

buildingSMART International welcomes two new members to the community. Leica Geosystems joins as a multi-national member, and Basler Hofmann joins as a standards member. Both bring significant expertise in the drive to the digital transformation. Leica are committed to digital construction through the use of high-tech innovation. Basler Hofmann brings a unique expertise through their innovation program to deliver better project delivery. Both companies will input their significant expertise into the standards and solutions to improve digital workflows for the built asset environment.

Its mission is to proactively support industry participants who want to develop open standards for planning, design, procurement, assembly and operation of buildings and infrastructure worldwide. It provides the international network plus the necessary technical and process support. Its members, who range from across the built environment spectrum, collaborate under the buildingSMART organization. buildingSMART is engaged with other international standards bodies such as ISO, the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) and the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).
