The International Standards Summit in Lillestrøm is Now Cancelled
London, (June 30, 2020) – Due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19), buildingSMART International (bSI) has cancelled the International Standards Summit, Lillestrøm, Norway that was scheduled for 5-8 October 2020. buildingSMART will now host a virtual summit with dates yet to be confirmed.
This event had previously been postponed but has now been cancelled following advice from the Norwegian government and the hotel.
The buildingSMART Awards Program will now take place virtually, with no changes to the program. The submission deadline has been extended to 31st July 2020. For more information, you can visit https://www.buildingsmart.org/bsi-awards/.
The next International Standards Summit is scheduled to take place in Zurich, Switzerland 15-18th March 2021.
bSI will be using the Event Calendar as a primary reference point to communicate about all buildingSMART events. We encourage you to check this regularly.

FAQs
I bought a ticket; can I get a refund?
bSI will be processing all refunds to every registrant.
What about my hotel?
All bookings at the Thon will be cancelled. If you booked the Thon hotel through the website www.thonhotels.no but without using the web-link https://www.thonhotels.com/event/buildingsmart-international your booking will not automatically be cancelled/refunded. But you can contact the hotel directly at arena@olavthon.no and they will assist with the cancellation/change.
I booked the hotel through a third-party.
Guests that booked accommodation through third party websites/external websites (for example booking.com, Expedia etc.) will have to change the reservation themselves.
What about my flight?
You will have to contact your airline to make the changes to your flights. We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause.
What will happen to the Awards Program?
The buildingSMART Awards Program will now take place online. There is no change to the submission criteria, categories, or end results. For more information, please visit https://www.buildingsmart.org/bsi-awards/
I’m a speaker at the event, what now?
The proposed program has been cancelled.
